”Chinatown” in USA are 90% cantonese speaking, and a high % out of those 90% are vietnamese, cambodian, laotian who know how to speak cantonese. everyone in chinatown dress like farmers, they eat fish and vegetables and rice everyday, they do tax and go to bank in places they only speak cantonese. occasionaly you see few taiwanese old men playing chinese chess but they are probably either buddhists or christian, i’m neither. the rest is pink hair salons which are full of horse.
see what i’m saying? how can i live there? i avoid even going there.
i don’t speak cantonese,i feel very foreign being in chinatown, and the food there is just nasty, the nastiest thing i’ve eaten in my whole life is in one chinatown. every time i go to chinatown, i feel i’m somewhere in the guangdong countryside several decades ago.
and then you see a fortune cookie factory? what the hell is a fortune cookie? that’s not even chinese!
then you sit down in a restaurant and order a rangoon?capital of Burma?
Crafty,
if i go to little taiwan, they support taiwan independence, and i don’t, they will kick me, i think going to Little Taiwan is not a good idea. i already know how people online can be, pretty scary.
and have lived in guangdong doesn’t automatically make me able to speak cantonese, i simply don’t want to learn it since it sounds pretty ugly. and i don’t like to swallow consonants.

Go back to China. Or go and live in Chinatown in the city that you live.
