Affordable Mexico Retirement in Cozumel – New Low-Priced Ferry

For Americans and Canadians considering a Mexico retirement, the island of Cozumel provides a clear example of how retirees can enjoy a very relaxing lifestyle, with modern conveniences, and at very accessible prices. A new ferry line to the main land for 2011 is one of many factors demonstrating this point.

While Cozumel is already served by two ferry lines running to Playa del Carmen on the mainland – a 45 minute boat ride away – the city council has approved plans and worked with a private company in order to offer third, more affordable line for those who make the trip frequently, or prefer to spend these savings on other items.

Over the past few decades, a growing number of Americans and Canadians have chosen to retire in Cozumel, investing in a Mexico beachfront property, overlooking the white beaches and turquoise water of the Caribbean Sea. Mexico condos for sale in Cozumel can be found on a variety of areas throughout the island, including in the town itself. There are also many options available off the beachfront, offering close contact with the island’s very well preserved, lush, green nature.

Whether retirees choose to invest in a luxury condo on the beach, or a property off the waterfront, they will see considerable savings compared to similar properties in the U.S. In addition, the cost of living is also considerably lower.

While the existing ferry lines have a fairly accessible price of about $ 12 USD per trip, the new line is specifically focused on offering more savings, and is expected to be about 40% less, or a bit more than $ 7.

In addition to benefiting retirees and other residents of Cozumel directly, the new, low-priced ferry service is also expected to draw more tourists who are visiting the Cancun and Playa del Carmen area. Increased and more diverse tourism will also draw more investment and new services to the island, thus indirectly providing more benefits to its residents.

The city has worked closely with the new company to ensure that the quality and comfort of the transportation is high, and that it will show social responsibility to its workers and the community.

Through efforts such as this one, retiring on Cozumel’s beachfront continues to become a more attractive option.

Question by El Topo: Why did most US Citizens living abroad or overseas, prefer Mexico as destination for Emigration?
On one hand, the US media bash, defame, insult , desprestige, unsprestige, and hate Mexico.
but, On the other hand, Most Americans prefer to move to Mexico over any other country in the world! Why is that?
Mexico is cheaper or more affordable than the USA. But it is not the cheapest country in the world.

Haiti, Guatemala, Bolivia, Cuba, Honduras are cheaper, and Americans don’t want to move there.
As matter of fact, Mexico is the leading economy of Latin America.

Americans living overseas; How many are in Mexico?

Question by Texicano-AlWassab: Americans living overseas; How many are in Mexico?
Ten years ago, . . .The largest number of Americans outside the United States were living in Mexico. According to American Citizens Abroad, there are more than 1,000,000 Americans living in Mexico (as of 1999). However, this number was disputed. Some estimated put the number as low as 324, 082. There weren’t reliable statistics from either the U.S. or Mexican governments as of 2002, at least.
Some people believe that there are more than 7 million Americans living in Mexico as permanent residents.
