Question by minus: How many of you will think abut coming here to Asia to vacation?
If you have the time then Asia for the most part is inexpensive and great to get to know about. You acn actually live here for a couple of months for less than what it would cost to stay home. Yes it is true. This is not true for Japan and tight in Korea but China and SE Asia is still cheap.
Come and enjoy the people, will you?

Sure, I’d love to go to China. But from the east coast of USA, that’s about a 13 hour flight just to get to a jumping off point like Beijing. Have you been on a plane in coach for 13 hours these days? That’s a tough ride. The 00 dollars to get there and back is reasonable, but still a good chunk of money. Maybe I’ll make it there someday in the next few years, but it will be quite a trip – I’d rather work out a way to go live there for a while instead of just being an in-and-out tourist.

Question by mocham: Travel to Asia or Europe?
Im planning my vacation this year and having a hard time chosing a destination. Choices are UK or a tour in Asia. Not sure which one would cost more and which would enrich me.
Anyone with the experience of having travelled to both please make a suggestion. I live in south asia and our plan is either to go Singapore, Malay and Thailand OR to the UK.

Part of the reason our rivals are catching up is their lower costs. A high-tech company in the United States, says the national commission, can now find and employ eight young engineers in India for the cost of just one in America. But another reason is that China and India are aggressively preparing for the future through education. Within five years, observers believe, 90 percent of all of the world’s scientists and engineers will live in Asia.

So my question is… What fields should young American students be encouraged to go into and should we kind of steer them away from math and science related careers?
