Now That You’re Retiring

Now that you’re retiring
We can tell you how we feel;
Our heartfelt admiration
Is deeply felt and real.

You’ve been a great role model
For teachers and each kid;
You showed us how to be
In everything you did.

We’ll miss your fine example;
We’ll miss the things you gave;
Our pleasant memories of you
We’ll recall and carefully save.

We wish for your retirement
The best of all your days;
May you discover sweet fulfillment
In new and rewarding ways.

Sonnet For An Unforgettable Teacher

(Teacher’s name),
When I began your class I think I knew
The kind of challenges you’d make me face.
You gave me motivation to pursue
The best, and to reject the commonplace.

Your thinking really opened up my mind.
With wisdom, style and grace, you made me see,
That what I’d choose to seek, I’d surely find;
You shook me out of my complacency.

I thank you now for everything you’ve done;
What you have taught me I will not outgrow.
Your kind attention touched my mind and heart;
In many ways that you will never know.

I will remember you my whole life through;
I wish that all my teachers were like you.

I hope these help!

does anyone have any suggestions about seeking employment overseas?

-

Question by : does anyone have any suggestions about seeking employment overseas?
I am a single parent seeking employment overseas to earn a living for my family. Are there any safe jobs or areas I can work in and return home safely after 6 months. I am currently in college online for accounting.

Answer by billbahai
Debra, your skills will help determine your answer, i.e., do you have foreign language fluency, or at least conversational skills? In addition to your growing accounting skills, do you have a work background in a particularly industry, say, construction or military projects? Do you or can you get a security clearance? Can you join one of the big accounting organizations for six months and get your auditing experience in SOX or something close to get a hard-to-find skill? Other countries have accountants – you need to bring an additional skill to persuade an organization to spend $$ to relocate you; US expatriates are the most or near the most expensive in the world.

My suggestion is you take a look at the job postings that involve foreign work and work backwards from the requirements, contact your Accounting Society (am assuming you want to work in Accounting) for guidance and check with the brick and mortar college job postings. Websites that could be worth your time: iscworld.com, Monster.com, your accounting society.

May be difficult to take your children with you, may be very difficult. Sorry to be pessimistic, but good luck!.

Can anyone help me out on these questions in regards to living overseas?

Question by Tired of the Crap~!: Can anyone help me out on these questions in regards to living overseas?
Where do I find out if you can work in Uruguay when you are a US citizen?

How do I go about finding out about schooling for my son?

And what the schools are like?

We really think it would be neat to live there for a couple of years.

I have searched the interenet and Ican’t find anything! But that doesn’t say much searching on the internet appears to be something I’m not good at!
I’m so please let me clairfy. I think it would be fun to live in another country for a year or two.

I’m aware I would have to have a visa, which I will apply for before going. I simply can not find anything on line. And because someone wants to do something fun they have to be hiding from something? You are kidding right?
My son’s biolgoical father is no longer here and he legeally has no father so I know that is not an issue.

I also have family in Columbia so I could always fly there if something were to happen that I needed help. So I’m not concerened about those things.

I have heard so many wonderful things about South America and uruguay in particular. While there I certainly hope to travel through South America. But for those reasons I have found Uruguay to be the better place to “live”.
NO job offer or anything like that. I’m not sure what I can do there….which is part of the information I’m having a hard time obtaining.

I just think it would be fun and this is something I’ve always wanted to do. And lets face it I’m not getting any younger! LOL
I will have enough money to pay for an apartment for either one year in full or I can put a large chunk down and buy a place, which I’m still debating if I really want to do that. But we still have to eat etc…..
What do you mean put your job qualifications. I have many qualifications I’m just not sure what I can do there. And you buy a home there and be an American.

Uruguay prizes itself on freedom and allowing that freedom. They are suppose to have the easest goverment as far as employment etc….But since it is mostly farming etc…Im not sure what I can do other than wait on tables, which doesn’t thrill me! But it is for the experience and to have fun. I also think it would be fun for my little guy!
wow what errars in my typing. Sorry! I hope you can read it! I guess that is one job I won’t be doing! LOL

Uruguay? You have a son and you’re thinking about doing this sight unseen? Are you trying to hide from someone?

Why don’t you go on a 1-week vacation there first.

Anyone ever lived overseas with the military?

Question by princesslocklin: Anyone ever lived overseas with the military?
One of our options is to re-enlist for another 4 years. I was wondering about other experiences. If we do move overseas, can we bring our 3 dogs?
My husband is in the Marines and we were thinking about Okinowa(sp?) Japan.

Depends on where you go and the base housing rules for pets if you live on base. Your best bet is to consider leaving them with a trusted friend or relative if worst comes to worst.

I highly recommend taking orders overseas at least once in a military career. It helps tremendously for advancement and you get to experience things you will never see in the US.
