I actually need to open a business checking account. But I’ve had no luck in finding out how I can achieve this short of spending 00 to fly back to the States for the 45min. or so it would take to open the account were I physically there to do it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try going to bankofamerica.com…that’s the bank I use…I think I seen on there before, where you can open up a bank account online. If you can’t find where it says that at….then e-mail them and ask them if you could do that…maybe they would open up the account for you….and then you mail the check witht he money you want to deposit in the account to them.
Good luck! :o )

how can i sell my american property when i’m living overseas?

Question by : how can i sell my american property when i’m living overseas?
We’re an Indonesian family, and we lived in Iowa for around 9 years. My mom bought a house when we were living there. Because of immigration issues, we had to return to Indonesia but we hadn’t taken care of the house when we left. Now we are back in Indonesia and the house is just sitting there, we don’t even know how to pay the tax and bills. We would like to sell it but it’s kind of tough when we’re not physically there. Does anyone know how we can sell it and otherwise settle the legal issues pertaining to the house? This, of course, cannot involve us going to the U.S. because as of right now we cannot return. Thanks to anyone who has info.

If an American, living, working overseas, wins the lottery..will the United States demand part of this lottery?

Question by cautiouscautious2005: If an American, living, working overseas, wins the lottery..will the United States demand part of this lottery?
Having lived and worked overseas, I had a sad/frustrating conversation with a group of Americans, currently working overseas who heard……(rumor, not sure) that if an American (example) lives in Italy, or France, or England, or Holland or Germany, etc, etc, and wins the Euro Millions lottery (Europea lottery), that the USA government has claim to a percentage of that lottery..(which as far as I am concerned is none of that g…….d………..business). Does anyone know current law on this and if not….can someone direct me to a website, info site…that would know? thank you….most appreciative of any knowledgable, well founded answers.

The tax laws don’t change. If they normally pay taxes to the US on their income, then they’ll pay taxes on this income.

But it’s really not worth getting worked up over. Neither you nor your friends are going to win.
