Can an American living abroad adopt through the American system?

-

Question by juarina1545: Can an American living abroad adopt through the American system?
I am an American working and living in South Korea. My husband and I would like to adopt a child. We are willing to adopt through the foster care system, are willing to adopt a sibling pair, are willing to adopt a child or children up to the age of four as long as they are physically healthy, and would prefer a non-white child. Based on my research, if we lived in America, with these as our guidelines we could have a child in our home within a year or less. But, we don’t live in America. Is it even possible to adopt from overseas or do we have to move back to the States?
I do understand that I can adopt internationally. I can also adopt from the country in which I currently reside. However, since I am not looking only for white infants, I know that there are plenty of children, and even babies, in the system back home waiting for parents. My question is can I, as an American not living in America, adopt through the American system?

How does the average American spend their retirement years?

-

Question by Spanky: How does the average American spend their retirement years?
My mom and dad are both retired, and both do little (if anything) except sit around the house and watch TV.

I knew one fellow who was retired and built his own workshop where he spent his days building furniture. He also single-handedly put a swimming pool in his backyard, landscaped his entire property, and constructed a vegetable garden.

So my parents seem kind of lazy compared to what may seem normal.

Some people travel, some people take up new hobbies, some go back to school, some sit at home and do nothing. Since it is THEIR home they have every right to sit home and do nothing. If you don’t like it find some place else to live instead of mooching off of your parents.
