Question by Pussycat: How have things changed for Americans living in S Korea since N Korea started firing at America?
When i lived overseas an incident occured that involved 3 military guys, the locals really shunned the Americans living there at the time. any problems over there for any of you guys?
i remember hearing on the news on july 4, that N korea was firing at us but that the missiles landed in the sea shortly after launch,
oh and i have been on the best vacation of my life for the last week, so i havent caught up on the news yet.

Question by dav: I am a TCK. How do I get my family to understand I feel more comfortable living overseas than in America?
All my family has spent time overseas, just not as long as I have 10+ years. They don’t understand the feeling I had when I arrived at the country I am working in and felt like I had come home; eventhough, it is not the same country I grew up in. When I go to U.S. to visit it is nice but I look most forward to go back to the host country. Any other TCKs out there who also went back overseas to work?

Question by Paul: how much does it cost for immigration from the philippines to america for work or just to stay?
ok ive been talking to my gf and she wants to come to the states to visit me. but she wants to stay and get a decent job and what not also…were not talking marriage for a while now. exactly what would be the fees, the price of everything. i already know the price of a fiance visa for her. but like i said we are not talking marriage for a while? evrytime i ask law firms they continue to ask for money. i just need questions answered. on the plus note, i questioned an immigration firm there in Phili. the guy told me that it would cost me ,000…50k.. to just take myself across seas and stay there…i want to know how true this is also. the apparant regulations require me to be at least 60 years old or be retired or going there for marriage to just stay there…

not true!! she can get a marriage visa for little or nothing normal fees!! you would have to pay for her normal airfare that’s it?? she has 90 days to marry any american and she can stay in america!! but you may have to pay for her living expenses and things like food and clothes while she is here?? you may have to get a lawyer to make shure of the laws?? or talk to immigration officer for the laws! you might also try the public libary??

Hi Alex,

there are several countries, however, the best would be Panama (best program for retired people), and Nicaragua. Both countries are very inexpensive and offer a lot for everybody. Costa Rica is also pretty good, however, it is much pricier.

I spent 4 months in Nicaragua and 2 months in Panama last year, and also plan to retire (early retirement) in the South. However, my country of choice is Colombia. You should also look at Colombia and Ecuador as well.
