Question by gpete909: How do I change my birthday? I’m tired of getting general info about retirement years!?
All I get is retirement planning and info about where old people go to retire. I’m more interested in the 30-40′s lifestyle. How can I change the age reference on Yahoo?

I believe it’s as simple as editing your account options.

You add them together. Good luck. I’m in the same boat, but unfortunately my pension amount is peanuts.

Working is always your choice, but one thing i will tell you (which you probably already know) is that most companies want you to wait till the specified date mentioned on your 401k so you will most likely be penalized for withdrawing early!
700k is a good amount for retirement, but you have to remember that you are probably going to want to take out at LEAST 70% of what you made before retirement, which means if you made 50k a year before you would be using 35k every year till you pass away, which would only last you 20 years ( age 76) and they will take out taxes also, so it probably comes out to about 15-17 years worth of money. FYI most men in my family live to be around the age of 90 so that wouldnt even be close to enough money for them!

does anyone have any suggestions about seeking employment overseas?

-

Question by : does anyone have any suggestions about seeking employment overseas?
I am a single parent seeking employment overseas to earn a living for my family. Are there any safe jobs or areas I can work in and return home safely after 6 months. I am currently in college online for accounting.

Debra, your skills will help determine your answer, i.e., do you have foreign language fluency, or at least conversational skills? In addition to your growing accounting skills, do you have a work background in a particularly industry, say, construction or military projects? Do you or can you get a security clearance? Can you join one of the big accounting organizations for six months and get your auditing experience in SOX or something close to get a hard-to-find skill? Other countries have accountants – you need to bring an additional skill to persuade an organization to spend $$ to relocate you; US expatriates are the most or near the most expensive in the world.

My suggestion is you take a look at the job postings that involve foreign work and work backwards from the requirements, contact your Accounting Society (am assuming you want to work in Accounting) for guidance and check with the brick and mortar college job postings. Websites that could be worth your time: iscworld.com, Monster.com, your accounting society.

May be difficult to take your children with you, may be very difficult. Sorry to be pessimistic, but good luck!.
