Hanover(NH) Police Honda Ridgeline
best places to retire usa

Hanover, New Hampshire is just a small New England town, but it punches way above its weight. Dartmouth College, an Ivy League school, calls the town home and the town was called the second best place to live in the US by CNN/Money in 2007 (also the 2nd best place to retire-odd given the horrible weather, but I digress).

Another unusual and unique thing about it(something more in line with my interest as an automobile enthusiast) is this: a tricked out Honda Ridgeline cruiser in service with the town’s small police department.

This thing might just be one of a kind. Perhaps there are other Ridgelines out there serving as unmarked, unmodified utility vehicles with police departments, but a fully customized patrol unit like this(completely rewired, custom wheels, etc)? Unheard of until I got here. Personally, my first reaction was "WTF?", but its actually kind of a cool vehicle, certainly the coolest Ridgeline I’ve ever seen.

This thread on a Honda Ridgeline owners forum goes into detail about how they ordered and customized this particular Ridgeline for police duty. Check it out if you’re curious about this unique vehicle.

Dried mangoes from the Philippines come from this area.

2. Boracay

Just 30 minutes away from Manila or Cebu, Boracay is the place to be when you love to go bar hopping by the beach. Of course, in the inner part of the island, you can find residential areas and affordable lodging.

3. Tagbilaran City, Bohol

Located one hour from Cebu by fast ferry, Tagbilaran is where you jump off to see the Chocolate Hills and the tarsiers, the world’s smallest monkeys. It is a small but fairly clean city and is well-served by fast ferries going to Cebu because of the beach resort areas surrounding it.
