They are both gonna make some impact. Both great players, I’m not gonna compare.
Ganguly’s retirement is a bit unfortunate, he’s been in good nick. But the lion retired on a high. Kumble had faded, and was only a shadow of his former self.

India will miss a great bowler after Kumble
and miss a great batsman and clever x captain after Ganguly
Retirement of both of these legendary players bring some memories back. Both of them have left some indelible marks in the hearts of many Indian cricket followers. It is sad to see both of leave. But the retirement of Ganguly is sadder of the two.
Kumble was a genuine match winner, who had won lot of matches for India. Ganguly certainly will affect more, as it will affect our famed middle order. Kumble was diminishing in importance and his form was worrying. But Ganguly was still playing good cricket.
As far as Indian cricket is concerned, Ganguly’s retirement will have a bigger impact than Kumble’s.
both near to me are legends of india.. and i feel sad for both of them.. and Kumble retirement are major cause one spinner (whose are really very few in World cricket) gone
DADA’s retirement obviously made me more sad.both of them are just superb cricketer no doubt.but dada’s retirement had a major impact to the cricket world.actually, why dada is not there any more is known to all of us ie.because of the indian selectors.he faced the dirty politics after his remarkable comeback also.so everybody supports dada in this ground.kumble didn’t at all faced this politics of the indian team.and dada was the only bengali cricketer and dada made a marvelous comeback.dada is the most successful captain of the indian cricket team.Kumble have surely contributed but dada’s comtribution according to me is much more.and dada also retired unexpectedly.kumble’s retirement was expected as he was in bad form.but dada was in a very good form.and when nobody even dared speaking about dada’s retirement he took it.and also love for dada is much greater than love for kumble.i mean dada occupies a much larger portion of everybody’s heart.and so for these things i must say that dada’s retirement had a major impact to the cricket world.
well talking about the impact i guess kumble’s had more impact because his was such a sudden decision that many people couldn’t believe that tht evening would be the last time they would be seeing kumble on the international arena
and saurav’s made an impact too especially the way he told out
but kumble’s got many people into immediate tears on watching the reports
i’ll miss both coz they were great match winners for our country and are really nice people off field
so yes i’ll miss both of them equally
YOU ROCK ANIL AND SAURAV
I’d say that it all depends on the way you look upon it, and also, it would vary widely from person to person.
Dada’s fans are sad for Dada, and would miss him. Likewise, Kumble’s fans are also heartbroken at his retirement.
People who are fans of both Ganguly and Kumble (I think majority of Indians belong to this category) would miss both of them badly henceforth.
I am also a fan of both these legendary cricketers, but since Dada was the personification of inspiration to me, it made me more sad, because I realized that now, I have none to look upto and draw inspiration from whenever I need it. Instead, I’d have to inspire myself with Dada’s memories, and it makes me feel lonely.
In the cricket world, Kumble’s retirement would have the more impact, because he has more fame, more international respect, more records, and a better image amongst the cricket lovers of other nations like the Aussies and the English (Sourav’s image is not good in these countries). But Sourav Dada was the one who touched the hearts of the Indian fans more profoundly than Kumble. Kumble was a bit older than Ganguly, which made people sympathize with Ganguly even more. Ganguly’s ability to arouse passion has been due to his charismatic character, and strong personality, which Kumble doesn’t possess. Many wept for Dada, but how many actually did that for Kumble? Also, Sourav’s career was terminated at it’s prime.
In a nutshell, Kumble is a legendary spinner, one of the greatest of all times, and occupies a special position of esteem in the cricket world. Ganguly has just been a great batsman, and a captain, and certainly not in the league of the all time greats of the game like Lara and Tendulkar. But as the Dada of Indian cricket, he occupies a special place of admiration and affection in the hearts of the Indian cricket fans. So, Jumbo’s retirement had greater impact to the cricket world, while Dada’s retirement had the major impact as far as the sentiments of the Indians are concerned.
Nothing can Impact anything everything is going as per how it has to move so I dont think there will be any Impact on INDIAN one day cricket.
Definately Sourav’s retirement made me sad more than Kumbles.
Obviously Kumble’s retirement is a greater loss to India than Sourav’s and made me very sad to see the last match of a great player. In test match cricket, we need great bowlers who can take 4.50 wickets per match or above in order to win match after match. Kumble’s 4.69 wickets per match is a very valuable feature that India will lose. Let us compare these two player performances on a 0-1000 scale.
As a batsman: Kumble – 223; Ganguly – 655
As a bowler: Kumble – 901; Ganguly – 56
As a fielder: Kumble – 134; Ganguly – 171
As a overall player: Kumble – 874; Ganguly – 539.
When you lose Kumble, you lose 874 points whereas Ganguly’s loss will amount to loss of 539 points to team India.
There is not going to be any impact, whatsoever, with their retirements. They are already past their best and they themselves knew it and made exit. For those of us, who have been watching cricket for decades, there would be some nostalgic memories, though. We may remember them for a long time, but that does not mean that they can continue to play unto eternity.
I’ll miss Bengal Tiger, Captain Courageous i.e. our very own DADA.
Still half of Dhoni’s team contains players nurtured and furnished by DADA, it includes Bhajji, Viru, Yuvi, Zaheer, and Irfan. So, of course DADA has retired but still the concept of DADAGIRI is existing in the team.
But I am happy that he has gone at his peak.
As being cricket lover what we should do is,
WE OUGHT NOT TO FORGET THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF DADA.
We should respect his decision.
But at the very last, DADA it will be very hard for us to forget you. you will always remain in our heart.
DADA WE LOVE YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEART.
dada’s retirement made me more sad…………………………..but it can’t be said surely whose retirement had a big impact on the world
You just can’t take things emotionally. Being a strike bowler, Kumble’s absence will be more striking
Kumble’s retirement was a matter of time but Sourav was out of the blue…….but it was Kumble’s retirement which came unexpected when there was only one match to play
I feel Kumble’s retirement was a major impact to cricket and Iam sad to see him retire
Both are great players…
Kumble’s retirement has bigger impact…and Saurav’s retirement made more people sad.
Kumble… Ganguly was dropped anyway…… he is a great player though !
kumble
Both were great players.I think both of them had remarkable contribution to Indian cricket.i can’t choose any one of them.
