cannot understand why they want to be the same as everyone else. As a AMERICAN, you need to be PROUD. We, as a nation, have risen abouve all other countries in Knowledge, Wealth, and Power. And that as one off the NEWEST nations. Every country has had a chance to grow into a super power, and most have been in their history, but, without a democratic society, have never been able to withstand the test of time and florished. Those that did, caught the eye of those who had less, and thus war followed. So, Learn from History, be proud of what we as a nation has done, and stop with the stupid thinking that “cant we all get along”. As long as we ARE prospuris, it will never happen.

I was disappointed when Europe went to Euros. It is much more ‘the same’ over there. I liked the more varied cultures, personally. Uniformity is the opposite of diversity.

Don’t Underestimate the Importance of Immigrants.
A number of important scientists are from Europe including Albert Einstein, Edward Teller, John von Neumann, Andy Grove, etc… Where would America be without these folks?
Some people are focusing too much on the word “illegal.” Let me explain to you what illegal means when we talk about “illegal immigrants.” An illegal immigrant is not necessarily a terrorist, robber, murderer, thief, rapist, or a liar.
The “illegal immigrants” are called illegal because they crossed the border without a visa. The reason they came without a visa is because the US government issues only a limited number of visas each year. The rest of the immigrants are not necessarily evil. They just simply got rejected because they were not the first in the line. That’s why they are called illegal.
They’re not illegal because they have blood on their hands. They’re illegal because they’re unfortunate. Let’s not forget this.
Did you know that Mohammad Atta, who flew the airplane into the WTC was a legal immigrant? He blew up a bus in Israel in 1986. He had blood on his hands. He escaped and got his greencard from the INS a few days after he died in the plane crash in NY. Was he an illegal immigrant? No.
You’d expect a terrorist to enter the country illegally, but that’s not what happened. Instead of restricting immigration and trying to catch the illegal immigrants, we should focus our efforts on catching the real bad guys not chasing these stupid Mexicans. We’re focused on the wrong target, I think. This whole “illegal immigration” issue is distracting us from our number one enemy.

First of you you mean as a UNITED STATESIAN keep in mind that most ‘illegals’ as you incorrectly call them are Americans from other parts of the AMERICAN continent.
As for the rest, the reason this nation did so well in the past was because of immigration, from the Manhatan to the Apollo program the majority of scientists there were not United Statesians learn a little history bud.
I have traveled all over the globe and its hard to find a place better than the US. There are a few places that I wouldn’t mind moving to though. Austrailia, Tahiti to name a few. Europe is definitly screwed though since the EU. Mexico is a litter box.

Knowledge, Wealth, and Power didnt come with clean hands…the US has been nation building and installing governments all over the world. Without immigrants, this country would have be NOTHING. Please tell me how many German scientists we immigrated here to help us with our Nuclear and our aerospace ambitions? Remember von braun and Einstein?

Probably not if Israel or the US has their way…
Agree for the most part. Of course reading some of the other posts I am always amazed at how many people can’t separate LEGAL from ILLEGAL immigrants.
Of course this country is great because of immigrants, but most of them came here LEGALLY. That is the single most important fact.
